We are thrilled to announce the biggest and most comprehensive Mouse Model Study of FOXG1 Syndrome is now successfully funded! Eight (8) mouse models are being created and studied.
Dr Jae Lee, along with the world renown gene therapy core at Oregon Health and Sciences University is developing eight different Foxg1 mouse lines, representing all known mutation groups, including a humanized mouse model.
"These models will expedite our understanding of FOXG1 biology and syndrome and allow us to find therapeutic strategies for Foxg1 Kids. Our school also has an excellent gene therapy core so we can immediately test the therapeutic values of these mouse models."
Please see our Research Projects page to learn more about each mouse model.
We are so grateful to have Dr. Jae Lee leading our mouse model studies. Not only is Jae one of the highest regarded scientists in the world, he is also a FOXG1 dad to his daughter Yuna, with Dr. Soo Lee. The passion of parents who wills top at nothing for thier child coupled with brilliant scientific expertise, is so unique and immeasurable.
